His father died in an accident and his mother had to give him up because she has 3 other children and lives in extreme poverty and cannot care for him. He spent time with relatives where the older boys abused him. After coming to the KINS Redeemer Children’s Home, it took Gerald seven months with special love and care to overcome the traumatizing memories of the former home and another three months to gain enough courage to start sharing his experiences. Compassion for Africa’s sponsorship has supported Gerald with love and meeting all his needs and education.
Gerald has completed his Diploma as an Electrician, and continues his ongoing training. Gerald has a large garden to help feed himself and others, creates and sells his art work and lives in Jinja Town.
