Our Children

Diana Mutheu Shadrack

I came to Cana at the age of nine because of the instability of my (late) father and mum. They had no money or job to provide food, clothes, or education for their children. We were chased away from school for lack of school fees, and struggled to buy the basic needs, often searching for food on our own as small children. When my grandmother heard what we were going through, she decided to try to help my mom by taking me to stay with her in Nairobi. Finding that she too was unable to care for me because of health and aging, she took me to Cana Rescue Centre. I was soon sponsored by Compassion for Africa who have provided all my needs and education. I found stability, a new way of living, and true freedom in Christ. My CFA sponsors served ten years in Kenya at a Christian Missionary school, so I was able to see them often. I graduated with a Diploma in Cabin Crew and am currently doing an internship while awaiting my job in the airline industry. I thank God for Cana and Compassion for Africa for giving me the platform, support and chance to establish myself.

My goal is to work in one of my favorite Airlines as a flight attendant, which I believe will be my dream come true.
