Mourine joined Cana when she was 9 years of age together with her sister Emmaculate. Mourine is an orphan whose mother died of HIV/AIDS and her father who is also sick and was not able to take care of them. He decided to take Mourine along with her siblings upcountry to live with their grandmother. After the grandmother died, they were forced to move to Nairobi and again stay with their undependable dad. Mourine used to roam around the street looking for food and help, until the neighbors decided to report to the area chief who brought them to Cana Rescue Center and into the Compassion for Africa sponsorship program.
Mourine is currently in her second year of studies at Daystar University for a Law Degree. She is 18 years old, loves Jesus, cooking and serves on several committees at University.
