Jenakhan Njeri

Jenakhan: Following the death of their father, Jenakhan a 10-year-old, and Stephanie her five-year-old sister were abandoned by their mother and left with their mentally unstable grandmother. They lived in a single room in Mukuru slum and often went days without food because of the instability of this grandmother. Neighbors often found the grandmother wondering the streets and was then taken to a mental hospital. The children were given small amounts of food by the well-wishers in the community but stayed alone uncared for. Their deplorable situation was brought to the attention of Reverand Mary Mambo by a pastor at Deliverance Church Sinai. Stephanie was rescued first and brought to live at the Cana Rescue Centre, followed later by Jenakhan. Compassion for Africa has found a loving family willing to sponsor both girls who will support their every need and has begun their education.
